ABOUT COMPANY: The Ministry of Health Uganda, is a government body set up with the mandate of policy formulation and policy dialogue with Health Development Partners, resource mobilization and budgeting, strategic planning, regulation, advising other ministries on health matters, setting standards and quality assurance, capacity development and technical support, provision of nationally coordinated services such as epidemic control, coordination of health research and monitoring and evaluation of the overall sector performance. Some functions have been delegated to national autonomous institutions including some specialized clinical support functions (Uganda Blood Transfusion Service (UBTS), National Medical Stores and National Public .

REQUIREMENTS

•     Must possess a MBChB degree or its equivalent from a recognized University
•     Must possess a Master’s Degree in Medicine, Public Health or Epidemiology from a recognized university
•     Possession of a post graduate qualification in Management, project planning and management or the equivalent would be an added advantage
Experience
•     Must have at least six (6) years relevant working experience in managing HIV&AIDS programs at national or regional level
RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Coordinating the development and review of policies, plans, strategies, guidelines and standards in care and treatment and monitoring their implementation.

2.    Providing guidance in strategic, business and operational planning and budgeting for care and treatment activities

3.    Coordinating and providing technical support to a broad portfolio of implementing partners, districts and facilities who provide care and treatment

4.    Promoting and enhancing collaborative linkages between the local Government, Non-government Organizations and Communities.
