Renewable Energy Program Consultant

Short-Term Consultancy to be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The World Bank Group is looking to recruit a local Consultant for the Tanzania Renewable Energy Program. The Climate and Carbon Finance Unit (GCCCF) of the World Bank Group (WBG) manages Tanzania Renewable Energy Program (Program) as Trustee of the Carbon Partnership Facility (CPF) together with Rural Energy Agency (REA) of the United Republic of Tanzania. The Consultant will report to Yevgen Yesyrkenov, Senior Carbon Finance
Specialist, World Bank Group and to Duncan I. Rusule, Social and Environmental Officer, Rural Energy Agency (REA).

The consultant is expected to assist Rural Energy Agency (REA) and World Bank Group (WBG) with the following tasks:

a) Administrative and technical support in the implementation of the Program;
b) Field visits to sub-projects to verify on their implementation status;
c) Gather information and manage database on the program and sub-projects;
d) Support sub-projects in fulfillment of COM requirements on monitoring and reporting;
e) Search for new sub-projects to be included into the Program;
f) Any other tasks that may be separately agreed but excluding legal advisory services.

The successful candidate should be a holder of at least a Master's degree in Renewable Energy or Electrical/ Power Engineering or related field with a minimum 5 years of professional experience. S/he should possess good computer skills with fluency in both English and Swahili. Have excellent organizational skills and proven ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure within tight deadlines with accuracy and profesionalism.
S/he should possess excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work in a team environment, as well as under minimum supervision and available to travel often across Tanzania.
